Westminster Abbey will be holding a vigil on the night of August the 4th, 2014.
Drawing upon Sir Edward Grey's famous remark that "the lights are going out all over Europe", Westminster Abbey will mark the centenary by moving from light into darkness, until one candle remains at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, which will be extinguished at 11.00pm to mark the moment of the declaration of war. The Vigil will include music, scriptural readings, psalmody, poetry, and contemporary reflection (such as diary entries and letters) from 1914.

Good News Gang - Thursday 3rd July

 

The GNG met in the Church Room to sing, pray, and make things.  We all told our good news (exams finished, holidays planned, new jobs ...) and prayed for each other and all GNG members.  We were preparing for the Sea Sunday service on Sunday 13th July at 11:15.  We read about Jesus calming the storm, practiced a drama and built animated model boats that rock on the ocean (see the photo).  Next GNG is on Thur 4th September 5:15pm, but there'll be another Family Service on Sunday 17th August at 11:15am.
