Good News Gang

 The GNG (young people's group for ages 5 - 16yrs) met on Thursday 9th May.  

The theme for the meeting was Jesus' Ascension to Heaven.  We worked on some things for the Ascension Day service that evening - blowing up helium balloons, and rehearsing a dramatised Bible reading. There was time for food (thank you Annie and Dilys) just before going to the church.  

After the service we let the helium balloons go with a special Ascension Day prayer.

Just to let you know the result from 2 recent social events:

Crazy Whist Night on Friday 26th April  raised £135 towards the Benefice Lenten Appeal for
Practical Action -  over £2000 was raised from the 4 Churches in the Benefice from this Lenten Appeal.

The Spring Quiz Night on Friday 3rd May made a profit of £300 - half of which has been donated to the charity Send a Cow and the other half to support the Revd Adel & Clare Shokralla from the
CMS (Church Mission Society) who are currently based in Cairo, Egypt.

Many thanks for all who supported these events and helped these very worthy charities.
